These are dogs that have been taken in by our rescue.  They are in all different stages, i.e. just arrived, in foster care and ready to go,
etc.  Please be aware that we try and evaluate our dogs in a foster home for a couple of weeks, so that we are able to make the best
determination on what kind of home would be best for them.  If you are interested in a dog, you may need to be patient until they are
fully evaluated and vetted.  This is for your benefit as well as the dogs, as we want our placements to be permanent ones.  Please be
aware that our role is as an advocate for the DOG, and making sure they go to the right home where they will thrive.

You NEED to read the
adoption page before filling out an application.  The page will pop up when you hit the link to take you to the
application.  THERE IS NOW A 10.00 FEE per APPLICATION payable via paypal link this fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee
you will be approved to adopt.

We do not guarantee adoption to anyone.  We are very thorough about our adoption process, as we are committed to sending our
dogs to homes where they will stay and be loved and provided for for the rest of their lives.  That is our only goal.  Adopting a dog is a
big commitment of time, love and money.

Welcome to Duffy's Friends. We are located in Rochester New York and have been saving lives since 1998. We are a 501-C-3 non
profit, no kill organization.

Most of our dogs come from over crowded, high kill shelters with little to no chance of survival. Many are strays, owner discards, or
their owners passed away. All are temperment tested and vet checked. We are amazed that such wonderful animals are homeless or
unwanted through no fault of their own. For this reason, our dogs deserve the best of homes and are carefully placed only where they
will be a great match for the family. Our dogs live in foster homes where they receive lots of love, basic training and socialization. We
provide adopters with accurate information on the pets personality, likes, dislikes, needs, vetting info, etc.
Our pets are shown at Petco on Hylan Drive in Henrietta on Saturdays from noon to 2. We do not show our pets if a holiday falls on that
weekend.

We do have an adoption process that includes filling out an application, checking vet references and doing a home visit to ensure the
resident pets accept the new family member. We also do follow up calls and are available to answer questions. Every one of our dogs
are carefully placed in homes where they are a good match for the family. We do not adopt to rental situations, those with small
children. We do look for history of pet ownership, good vet references, safe containment while outdoors, etc. If you have questions
or need an application, send a note to
Duffysfriendsdogs@yahoo.comTo see all our dogs, check us out at

If interested in helping save pets, we are always looking for serious, responsible  pet lovers that will open their homes and hearts to
provide temporary shelter until the animals adoption takes place. It can be a tough, but very rewarding experience. Please email us
for more information. We provide everything you need.

Duffys is also looking for dedicated volunteers. We would love more help with transporting, vet appointments and home visits. Our
dog showings on Saturdays draw a large crowd, we need volunteers to discuss our pets, help with applications, answer questions,
etc.  If you like total chaos, this would be a great opportunity for you.
